MSc, information specialist at Terkko Medical Campus Library of the University of Helsinki, since 1997.
My main tasks include information literacy teaching and coordination of it: for students, teachers, researchers and other staff at the medical faculty of the University of Helsinki and the Helsinki University Central Hospital. My tasks also include presentations of new library services and new features, reference service and guidance. Together with the medical faculty we have a group for enhancing educational technology for teaching and learning.
I’m involved in national and international cooperation: I’m the chair of Bibliothecarii Medicinae Fenniae (Finnish Health Librarians’ Association), a council member of EAHIL and I have participated in Namibia-project and Transfer of Knowledge (continuing education courses for medical librarians in Russia and Baltic countries).
During 1987-1996 I worked at the Ultuna Library of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala Sweden. My main professional interests are information literacy, continuing education for library/information professionals, new technologies, pedagogy, international cooperation and evidence based practice.
