Abstract Book
The Abstract Book will contain the abstracts of both oral presentations and posters and also, of Continuing Education Courses and Sponsors presentations. All its content will be licensed under a Creative Commons License.
All presenting authors of both oral and poster presentations have been requested to submit the final version of their abstract to seville@eahil2016.com before 29 January 2016. At least one of the authors of each abstract must be registered before 31 March 2016.
The Conference organization assumes that all authors reviewed and approved the final manuscript and it contains only original material not published or presented elsewhere.

In order to produce abstracts with uniform format, please follow the general recommendations:
- Abstracts should be written in simple, concise and effective English.
- They should be typed single-spaced and with wide margins font size 12 points, Times New Roman.
- The recommended length for each abstract is about 400-450 words and it should be structured (for instance: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion and Conclusions)
- Titles should be clear and a concise statement of the purpose or goal of the work.
- Titles should be followed by the complete name of the Authors (first name, followed by surname), by their affiliation in English (town and country included), using Arabic numerals, and the e-mail address of the presenting author.
- Avoid numbering in titles and subtitles; write titles in bold and affiliation in italics. Latin or foreign words should be in italics.
- Abbreviations should be spelled out in full the first time they occur in the text, followed by the shortened term in parentheses.
- A selection of 6 keywords should be provided; MeSH terms should be preferred.
Online Conference Proceedings
After the end of the Conference, oral presentations and posters will be made available online on the Conference Website.
All presenting authors of both oral and poster presentations are therefore requested to submit the full text of their presentation to seville@eahil2016.com before 15 April 2016.
In addition to presenting the full text of their presentation, authors may also wish to submit a pdf version of their presentation or poster (max 5 MB). It would be recommended to license the work under a Creative Commons License.
In order to produce the full text of the presentations with a uniform format (see template), please follow the general recommendations:
- Manuscripts should be written in good English and as concisely as possible to allow a clear understanding of the text. They should be typed single-spaced and with wide margins – font size 12 points, Times New Roman.
- The title should be followed by the complete name of the Authors (first name, followed by surname), by their affiliation in English (town and country included), using Arabic numerals, and the e-mail address of the presenting author.
- The recommended length for each presentation is about 2000-2500 words and for each poster, 1000-1500, with no more than 5-10 references in both cases.
- Titles and subtitles must not be numbered. Titles should be written in bold and affiliation in italics. Latin or foreign words should be in italics.
- Abbreviations should be spelled out in full the first time they occur in the text, followed by the shortened term in parentheses.
- The abstract and the keywords included must be the same that the ones accepted for the Abstract Book.
- Headings and subsheadings must be clearly indicated avoiding numbering. Titles of headings should be in bold while titles of subheadings should be in italics, avoiding capital letters in them whenever possible.
- Tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals according to their citation within the text. Figures must be numbered in Roman numerals. They may be inserted into the body of the Word or txt document, where appropriate.
- Italics, instead of bold characters, should be used to emphasise words or sentences within the text.
- All references in the text must be numbered in brackets and listed at the end of the presentation. They should be written in Vancouver style according to Uniform Requirements for Manuscript Submitted to Biomedical Journals.
- For sample references refer to NLM.
- For abbreviations of periodicals refer to PubMed Journals Database or use the ISO 4 (International Organization for Standardization. Information and documentation. Rules for the abbreviation of title words and titles of publications. Geneva: The Organization; 1997) for titles not found in the NLM Catalog.
Instructions for presenters
- All presentations must be brought to the Welcome Desk at least two hours or the day before your session to ensure their timely loading.
- The presentation may be in MS PowerPoint or PDF.
- If possible present yourself to the Chair prior to the start of the session.
- Ensure that you keep on time, as a courtesy to other speakers who will follow.
- Allow 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and time for change over.
- Please speak clearly and slowly, remembering that for most participants English is a second language.
Instructions for posters
Poster size and format
Please, follow the instructions below to prepare your poster:
- The poster should be portrait in orientation, and the mesaurements, 120cm high x 90cm wide. It is advisable to print it on lightweight paper.
- Posters must be prepared as a single poster and not as a collage.
- The design of the poster must conform to readability standards from a distance of about 1.5 meter. It should be easy to read, clear and attractive.
- Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors as stated on the submitted abstract. It is recommended that you structure your poster according to the abstract e.g.: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
- It is advisable to include a Creative Commons License.
Poster display
The poster session will open on the first day of the Conference, Wednesday 8 June. Each poster presenter is requested to stand by his/her poster for informal discussion during this session. Authors can set up their posters on that same day before the beginning of the Conference, from 8.00.
- Posters will be on display for the duration of the Conference and in the same order given in the Abstract Book.
- Each poster board will be marked with an individual paper number.To locate your assigned poster board, look for your poster’s number.
- Double sided tape will be available for the mounting of posters.
Posters should be removed before 18.00 on Friday 10 June at the end of the Conference.
