Jose M Carrion (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, 1970). Degree in Library Science by the University of Granada. Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering.
He started his career as librarian in 1999 at the Research Unit of Valme Hospital, later he worked at the library and patient files of Alto Guadalquivir Hospital. Presently, he is in charge of the Information Technology Department at the Andalusian eHealth Library where he works as librarian since 2005.
He has participated in several Spanish and International Conferences related to Health Information, with expositions on electronical resources and librarian services. He has conducted several training courses on MBE, EBE and medical information searchings and he is the co-author of several clinical practice guidelines and medical articles.
Member of the NGO called Ibermed, physicians with Iberoamerica, he has worked at the project “Tonatiuh”, a Health Sciences Library at La Antigua, Guatemala, providing courses on bibliographical MBE searches.
His current research interests include bibliometric studies, biomedical information, metasearchers, federated searches, discovery tools and reference management software.
