Scientific Programme

Papers and posters presented at the Workshop relate to its overall theme "The Education, Training and Continuing Development of the Health Library & Information Workforce". The workshop will be a forum for discussion about the types of education needed to allow information professionals to meet the demands of current health care systems and the social and technological environment, and to help health librarians compete in the job market. Various roles that information professionals play these days will be in focus, in particular a role of: a teacher of information competencies, a researcher and research supporter, a manager, an IT specialist, an editor, a member of a project team.
In Kraków, the workshop participants will have a special occasion to discuss in international company present professional requirements and needs, to learn about best educational practice in Europe and in the world, and to get inspired to promote development of health library force in their local environment. Participants will receive practical "how to do" advice, information about effective training methods, tools, and innovative training content.
