Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the International Program Committee and the Local Organizing Committee, we are very happy to welcome you to the EAHIL Workshop in İstanbul, the city where the two continents meet.

This workshop is the first EAHIL event to be held in Turkey and we hope it won’t be the last. We are expecting over 170 delegates this year from 38 different countries. This cultural variety goes very well with Turkey’s cultural fabric made up of a rich combination of diverse cultures rooted deeply in history.

This year’s Workshop consists of 11 continuing education courses, 3 plenary papers, 21 papers presentations and 23 posters with the theme “Active Learning and Research Partners in Health”. The programme is featuring the Best Posters session, a Round Table discussion and a webinar this year as prominent novelties. The webinar “Best Practices in Health Science Libraries “ will keep colleagues who could not come to İstanbul still connected with the Workshop. We thank Proquest Dialog for their support.

We host 13 distinguished sponsors and exhibitors. Their support will help us to stay abreast with current products in our field. We thank them for being with us.

The busy scientific programme is also colored by a social programme that offers you the chance to enjoy the city. Koç University is in Sarıyer where the Bosphorus connects with the Black Sea. During the Cruise Dinner, you will have a chance to see imperial palaces, fortresses, old Istanbul houses lined up as pearls on a necklace. On Saturday, you will be diving in the heart of the imperial city.
