Şevket Ruacan, Graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1969.Postgraduate training in biochemistry, pathology and cancer research at University of Pennsylvania and New York University. Served as the Dean of Hacettepe Medical School, Director of the Institute of Oncology, member of Higher Education Council of Turkey, member of Executive Board of Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, European Union and NATO Science Committees. Taught Medical Ethics in the medical school.Served on the Research and Publication Ethics Committee of Turkish Research Council and Higher Education Council for numerous years.Was president of the local ethics committee of Hacettepe University for 5 years. Gave lectures on Publication Ethics in more than 25 universities and scientific meetings.

Önder Ergönü, MD, MPH, He graduated from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his residency in 1996 in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology department of Ankara University in Ankara, Turkey. He received Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health 2003. In 2000-2002, he worked as a research fellow in the Clinical Epidemiology division of Infectious Diseases Department at the University of Utah, School of Medicine, USA. He is one of the members of the steering committee of the EU-FP7 funded project“International Network for Capacity Building for the Control of Emerging Viral Vector Borne Zoonotic Diseases (ARBOZOONET)”. He is the owner of the Public Health Scientific award of Turkish Medical Association in 2007.
