HINARI/Internet Resources for Health Information Professionals: Training the Trainers
Lenny Rhine (USA) & Gaby Caro (Peru)
  Biography

 

Since 2007, Lenny Rhine, Ph.D. has been the coordinator of the ‘E-Library Training Initiative’, Librarians Without Borders®/Medical Library Association. Funded by the Elsevier Foundation, this program has focused on conducting HINARI training and the updating and developing of HINARI training material. In the past four years, Lenny has conducted over 30 workshops and developed more than 20 training modules. He is an emeritus university librarian at the University of Florida where he was responsible for collection development at the Health Science Center Library. Lenny has been active in international librarianship since 1989.

Since March 2008, Gaby Caro is the HINARI Technical Officer at the World Health Organization, Switzerland. She is responsible for the HINARI HelpDesk, is involved in HINARI training activities around the world, and supports the development, update and translation of the HINARI training materials. Gaby has a degree in Librarianship and Information Science, formerly worked as the Information & Documentation Technician at the Pan American Health Organization/WHO Peru Country Office (1994 to Feb. 2008). Since HINARI was launched she conducted a number of HINARI training courses, and translated the training materials to Spanish.
