Scientific Programme. Poster Guidelines:

The poster session will open on the first day of the Conference, Wednesday 3 June, at 15.30. The time for putting up your poster will be on the same day, between 09.00-14.00. Posters should be taken down before 17.00 Friday 5 June.

You are asked to follow these guidelines when submitting an abstract for poster presentation:

  • All posters are required to conform to PORTRAIT ORIENTATION. Failure to follow this requirement will mean that the poster will NOT FIT on the allotted board.
  • Poster BOARD dimensions = 1 m wide x 2.25 m high. Use size A0 PORTRAIT ORIENTATION (0.84 x 1.19 m).
  • The poster board surface will only allow pinning; pins will be provided in the poster area, but you are also advised to take some with you.
  • Posters should be clear and easy to read. Type size should be sufficiently large to allow people to read from 2-3 metres.

Final full texts or abstracts for inclusion in the web published proceedings of the Workshop should be submitted as per instructions for authors below. 

Scientific Programme. Oral Presentations:


The conference venue, Dublin Castle, is a commercial conference centre utilizing four parallel venues in various buildings. Therefore to ensure the effective distribution and loading of presentations, it is necessary that all oral plenary and oral parallel presentations by presenting authors are submitted in Microsoft PowerPoint format. The duration of Parallel Session presentations should be timed to be not more than 20 minutes.


Scientific Programme Proceedings, Oral Presentations and Posters:


The Conference Proceedings will include the full text of all the papers presented in the plenary, parallel and poster sessions of the Workshop. They will be published online in PDF format immediately after the workshop. All the presenting authors are requested to submit the full text of their paper or poster.  Please find below the instructions for submitting the full text of your paper:

  • All the papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word format, Times Roman 12, single spaced, Left justification.
  • The Title, Authors, Affiliation and References sections follow the same style as for the abstract.

Surname, Forename(s), Surname, Forenames(s)
Institution, Town, Country  (E-mail address of presenting or first author)

1.    Order of appearance in text. Vancouver style please,  see http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html
No more than 5 relevant references please

  • The full text should be clearly structured into sections as above. The titles of the sections should be in bold sentence case, subsections (if any) in italics. Do not number the sections.
  • Tables and their captions should be inserted in the text and numbered with Roman numerals.
  • Figures and their legends should be inserted in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals. All the figures should also be sent as separate files, preferably JPG format, 300 dpi.
  • Screenshots and related images should be pasted into the body of the Word document at the appropriate point in the text.
  • Since the full texts will be published online, there is no strict limitation regarding the length. However, they should not exceed 6,000 words.
