Rumeyza Kazancioglu completed her medical training between 1985 and 1991 at Istanbul University School of Medicine. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency in 1997 and Nephrology fellowship in 2001 at the same School of Medicine. She received a fellowship grant from International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and worked at the Transplantation Center of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN, USA between 2000 and 2001. She has founded and chaired the Nephrology Clinic at Haseki Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul as an Ass. Professor of Nephrology between 2003-2010. Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units and nephrology fellowship programme was initiated during her leadreship. She became a Professor of Nephrology in 2010 when she joined Bezmialem Vakif University as Vice-Dean of School of Medicine. Since 2015 she is the Vice- Chancellor of the University. She has hosted an ISN fellow from Azerbejian, an ERA-EDTA fellow from Kazakhistan and an ISPD fellow from Kazakhistan since 2014 at Bezmialem Vakif University. She is fluent in English and can speak German as well. She has 40 various primary chapters or translations of Medical Books Dr. Kazancioglu has received many awards beginning with Clinical Research Assistant Award (Clinical Scholarship Grant), International Society of Nephrology (ISN), January 2000 to Best Original Research Award, Turkish Nephrology Society, October 2018. She received a number of national awards including Turkish Nephrology Society’s “Best Original Research Award”, “Oral presentation at the 35th National Congress, 1st prize”. Her research focuses on Chronic Kidney Failure, Autonomous Dominant Polycystic Cystic Disease, Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Dialysis.
