Objectives:
· To identify health science journals published on-line in Spain in order to ascertain the degree to which they comply with standards and guidelines for scientific journals.
· To analyse the level of meta-data
· To assess to what degree are they referenced in databases can be effectively retrieved using these databases.
· To evaluate their added value services (alerts, DSI).
Methods
We searched only for journals that are no published in other format (e.g. paper) and that try to make use of the technological advantages of web edition like continuous revision, easier, lower costs. To perform the search we used databases (ISSN online, Ulrich Periodicals Directory), genera purpose web searching tools, mailing lists, directories (Latindex), collective and commercial catalogues

We elaborated a questionnaire based on existing literature, that includes a number of items related to the objectives of this study and results are presented in a table format.
