The integration of the Medical Library and its Web services into the Debrecen University started in 2000. Now it is time to find out, what our users think of the new website, reorganised services, new databases. How are they affected by the information overload? How our primary users (university staff) access information? Do they find PubMed enough for their information need? How they define quality information and how they search it? Do they use our website? If yes - what else do they need? If no - why? What shall we do to draw their attention (PR, reorganizing website, new services)?
To find the answers, my idea is a study based on personal interviews rather than a representative survey. The time frame is the winter of 2003/2004. The ‘sample’ would be a group of researchers who come to consult the librarian – they can easily be interviewed during reference work.
My aim is to improve our services in order to help our users find relevant information in the most efficient way.
