Objectives: The evaluation of scientific publication activity: 30 high priority Hungarian medical journals in the last five-year period 1999 - 2003. Methods: analysis of scientific content and formal elements. The number and composition of published articles: original articles, review, case reports, forum, etc. Publication requirements by editorial board: Guidelines for authors.
