There are ten European countries, which become a part of European Union in 2004: Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia. Drug Regulatory Agencies of all ten countries have followed European regulatory requirements and special databases of registered medicinal products were established. Like in all EU countries Patient Information Leaflets (PIL) and Summary of Products characteristics (SmPC) have become public available. Databases of registered medicinal products with SmPC and PIL are one of the important information sources. Professionals in Drug Information Centres (DIC) need such information source among other ones in a process of consulting. We have searched the quality and availability of these databases in each of ten countries of enlarged Europe. Adequate information sources are bases for physicians and pharmacists who work on the field of pharmacotherapy and especially to other ones who work within a DIC when giving an advice or decision to other professionals.
