The presentation describes the quality management activities of the Veterinary Science Library in connection with the Hungarian quality project for libraries. This is a three-year national project, sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, aiming at the elaboration of library standards used for a re-assessment of libraries. The Veterinary Science Library – as the only veterinary collection of the country – has a special role among the academic libraries. Professors, students, private practitioners and all kinds of specialists in the field of animal health adminisdtration are represented among its users. A part of the primary target population (university staff and students) has direct contact to library services. The other part – veterinarians and animal health specialists working all over the country – need information, but they are too far from the library. The library client satisfaction survey will highlight the needs of the target population. The goal of the survey is to examine - the library collection - in-house use and borrowing - photocopying and ILL - information resources The survey will be carried out in the following steps: - calling the attention of users - questionnaire and interview survey - processing - analysis of the results - formulating conclusions. The Veterinary Science Library is dedicated to the improvement of its services, and hopes that the survey will help to define, what measures can enhance its development.
