In 2003/2004 the Veterinary Science Library, Szent István University makes a user survey in order to lay the foundationas of its quality management project. As a part of the questionnaire, concerning the needs and habits of the information use of veterinarians, we try to collect the situations in which veterinarians need information, and the types of sources, these can be found in. These data will be suplemented by interviews made both by library users and non-users. Quality information effectively contributes to solving a problem, in other words it is the proper information at the right time, in the right form. The poster will show what types of information are needed in what form by the large scale of users of the Veterinary Science Library. The following user groups will be examined: • students, • academic and research staff of the Faculty, • practicing veterinarians (in clinics and laboratories), • veterinarians in animal health administration, • veterinarians engaged in the pharmaceutical sector. We hope that this model of quality information will contribute to the selection of information sources purchased by the library, and to finding the most efficient ways of communicating information to vets in terms of repackaging and technological solutions.
